History and Current Affiliations

Incorporated in 1949, the Association of Electrical Contractors, Inc. (The AEC) has been serving the electrical industry of New York City for fifty-five years.

Drawing on its affiliation with the National Electrical Contractor's Association (NECA) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (I.B.E.W.), the AEC provides its membership with the most current information and education on management practices, code changes, business trends, and safety regulations.

The members of The AEC draw from the highly skilled labor pool of Local Union #3, I.B.E.W. to produce modern electrical installations including new construction, maintenance, and renovations.

Through the diversity of over 150 member contractors, the electrical needs of customers ranging from small projects to projects over $50 million can be met for private and public sector installations.

If you are interested in becoming a part of the New York City Electrical Industry or are looking for qualified electrical contractors to perform your work, the membership of this dynamic organization can meet your needs.

This Website is designed for easy accessibility by our current multi-billion dollar client base as well as prospective new members and clients. The AEC welcomes any comments, suggestions or questions by e-mail, fax, or phone.
