The Association of Electrical Contractors, Inc. (AEC) has been serving the electrical industry of New York City for over 65 years. The AEC has a diverse membership base of contractors servicing the electrical needs of customers that range in size and scope from small jobs to $75 million projects for private and public sector owners. The AEC provides a collective voice for electrical contractors active in the five boroughs. In addition, we have associate members including electrical supply houses (distributors) that provide materials and equipment to our industry. We pride ourselves on bringing programs and services that all our members need to stay competitive, informed and well positioned for growth, success and longevity.
Together with our partners at the New York Electrical Contractors Association, the AEC negotiates and administers collective bargaining agreements with Local Union #3/ IBEW. We strive to structure contract terms in cooperation with Local #3 that produce safe job sites, productive work practices, and a fair wage/ benefit package that recognizes the skills of a unionized and highly efficient labor force.
The AEC’s mission is to unify New York City’s electrical industry, helping our members thrive by maximizing technical and management knowledge while providing high quality, professionally-installed electrical work to a diverse group of consumers. The AEC fosters harmonious labor relations within the industry and drives business opportunities in the New York City market.
The AEC’s affiliation with the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) ensures the organization’s members will be up-to-date on the latest industry trends and provides its customers with a trained, certified workforce for every project.
